Tips for emailing your Member of Parliament

  • As a local resident I'm concerned about the future of our marine life and ask you to support the creation of a network of marine sanctuaries.
  • Australia's marine environment is one of the reasons why Australia is such a great place to live. Whether its sea-side family holidays, fresh fish and chips at the beach, snorkelling, swimming or just knowing that we care, a healthy marine environment is an important part of our lifestyle.
  • However pollution, oil spills, and rapid declines in our popular fish mean urgent action is needed now.
  • Right now political parties will be outlining their plans for the country if they are elected to government.
  • Australia's South West waters have one of the highest levels of unique marine life in the world, but less than 1% is currently protected.
  • As a constituent, I would like to know if you support the creation of a network of marine sanctuaries to world-class scientific standards around our coast, starting in Australia's South West.

Our oceans are in crisis. Over-fishing has decimated fish stocks, oil spills threaten regional communities and marine life everywhere is in rapid decline.

Right now we have the opportunity to turn this around in Australia and safeguard our great coastal lifestyle into the future.

Over coming weeks Australia's political leaders have an historic opportunity to save our marine life through committing to a network of large marine sanctuaries in Australia's South West.

But what they do this election, depends on what we do now.

Help save our marine life now. It's simple: send a message to your local MP, and get your friends involved too. We will make sure that your message gets to other local political candidates as well
