The Canberra Times: Accounts bungle leaves fisheries agency $2m in red
An accounting bungle by federal agriculture bureaucrats has left Australia’s cash-strapped peak fisheries research agency struggling to pay back debts totalling $1.94million.
The agency’s 2010-11 annual report is also expected to provoke controversy over a statement attributed to one of its directors, former NSW state Labor minister Harry Woods, in relation to over-fishing in Australian waters.
