Byron Shire News: Activists fight for fish

A SMALL but passionate group of ocean advocates have rallied at Byron Bay’s Main Beach.
The rally, organised by local non-government organisation Positive Change for Marine Life, aimed to draw attention to the potential threat to marine conservation posed by the NSW Government’s impending decision on recreational line fishing in the State’s marine sanctuaries.
Group founder and director Karl Goodsell said for much of the past year, a blind eye had been turned to recreational fishers within the sanctuary zone.
