Did you know Australian sea lions are our ONLY endemic seal species?

Did you also know they are facing possible extinction?

Too many of these playful animals are dying after being entangled in marine debris.

Right now, the South Australian Government is looking to expand sanctuary protection at Seal Bay. But to get this over the line, we need to show strong public support.

This small bay on the southwestern side of Kangaroo Island is home to one of the world’s most important breeding colonies of endangered Australian sea lions.

Expanding the fully protected ocean sanctuary here will provide a safe haven where sea lions can find food securely and their pups can grow up healthy and strong.

Australian sea lions have one of the longest breeding cycles of any marine animal, with 18 months of gestation followed by 18 months of caring for the pup.

This makes the population extremely vulnerable to human-related threats, with numbers declining for nearly 40 years.

We need to act now! The government consultation ends soon, which means we have very little time to call for stronger protection.

Add your signature today! Demand a bigger ocean sanctuary for Seal Bay and give these amazing creatures every chance to survive.
