The Age: 'Sneaky' Coalition move to change marine park rules
Environment groups have expressed dismay at the federal government for quietly removing management plans from the world’s largest marine park network.
Federal Environment Minister Greg Hunt announced the change late on Friday, saying it would reverse Labor’s ”plan to lock out recreational fishers” from waters around the country and fulfilling an election promise made by Tony Abbott in August.
The opposition called it a ”sneaky” manoeuvre.
