For the first time an economic value has been calculated for Australia’s ocean life. Its worth $25b, but researchers who came up with the figure are warning that it could all be put at risk if we don’t increase protection.

In economic terms, our coastline forms the third largest marine estate in the world.
But a report released this week says the worth of Australia’s ocean resources are grossly undervalued.
