AS DIVERSE in life as it is unique, the Solitary Islands Marine Park is on the brink of a new era of protection and conservation.
The NSW Government has been handed a report from the Marine Estate Management Authority containing recommendations on how to achieve a balance of marine preservation and sustainability in marine parks, and overall a clear focus is extensive community consultation.
The report’s release comes six months after the State Government placed a moratorium on already declared marine parks amid claims sanctuary zones were previously introduced on the whim of politics and not marine science.
